💡 Weekly Thought Exercise: Turn your monthly revenue into your weekly revenue

This Thought Exercise comes from listening to the Sam Altman Y-Combinator presentations from 2015.

This prompt is based on:

  1. 3 questions from Sam Altman

  2. The Lean Startup Methodology

  3. The Pareto Principle (80/20 Rule)

Sam Altman is the CEO of OpenAI.

Before that he was at Y-Combinator helping startups go from $0 to hundreds of millions in value.

I like taking advice from Sam (and asking myself his questions) because he's not somebody that built one successful business and is now telling me how he did it.

He's watched behind-the-scenes as hundreds of businesses have found product-market fit, scaled, exited, and taken over industries.

Paired with mental models like the Lean Startup Methodology and Pareto Principle and this prompt has me realizing:

  1. It's not that deep. What I need to do isn't that difficult. My mind is making a mountain out of a mole hill.

  2. I need to priorize what will get me the most results. Shiny object syndrome is too real.

By the end of this reflection, you'll have a plan for turning your monthly revenue into your weekly revenue.

Copy and paste this thought exercise into your AI of choice (I prefer Claude for these types of conversations).

3 things before you see the prompt:

  1. It's a long one. Don't be scared.

  2. You don't have to read it if you don't want to. The prompt will guide you through the Thought Exercise.

  3. You don't need to add any context upfront. You can copy and paste as is.
